The individual parallels saw the Italian national team with Bassino and France with Faivre winning the first title. Switzerland at 8 medals with the fifth bronze.

And on the fifth day of competition, here is the first medal and the first title in these world championships for Italy, with Marta Bassino winning the women's parallel, just as Mathieu Faivre brought the first laurel to France by triumphing in the men's test.
A day that saw Austria extend again to the top of the medal table in Cortina 2021: the incredible ex aequo between Bassino and Liensberger also means the fourth world title of this review (out of eight races) for the Wunderteam, the first at level female after the three golds of Kriechmayr and Schwarz. Switzerland has double the medals, eight, but with two golds, one silver and five bronzes (Loic Meillard added a second after the one he won in combined).
Behind the two super powers is France, with Faivre's gold and Worley's bronze added to the two medals (silver and bronze) brought by Alexis Pinturault. Behind the United States (a gold and a bronze with Shiffrin) and Italy, now fifth in the medal table, there is Germany with its three silvers, finally Slovakia with Petra Vlhova's silver and Croatia who today celebrated the same metal in parallel with Filip Zubcic.
