The damage is enormous, between FISI and the Cortina 2021 Foundation forced to roll up their sleeves after losing the World Cup finals, which are also fundamental as a test event towards the 2021 world championships. Millions of euros in smoke due to the situation linked to the Coronavirus and the distrust of all the nations belonging to the FIS Council, who voted "no" to the trip to Veneto in this delicate period. A cancellation that the mayor of Cortina, Gianpietro Ghedina, was caused by "a communication problem by our country on the ongoing health emergency"; while the CEO of Fondazione Cortina 2021, Valerio Giacobbi, spoke of the enormous damage caused by this choice. â€œA decision that strongly penalizes the entire sports movement, but also entrepreneurs, professionals and the whole community. In two and a half years we have worked hard for the organization of the finals and for this event to become a new springboard for our territory. I reassure everyone that in Cortina we continue to work incessantly to achieve the best of the 2021 world championships, our hope is that the Coronavirus emergency can soon be curbed and archived ".
