The chaos of the parallel and the death threats to Markus Waldner: Cortina 2021 Foundation takes a stand

The two individual parallel races of last Tuesday had already been discussed enough, while the team event, that is the team parallel of these world championships in Cortina, seemed to have gone much smoother, considering the smaller difference in terms of snow conditions between the two tracks. Yet, precisely in relation to yesterday's race, the chief race director of the white circus as regards the men's sector, the Alto Adige Markus Waldner (returned during the work for the world championship, after having contracted Covid during the cup trip to Flachau), reported receiving death threats via email. Today afternoon, the organizing committee of the Cortina 2021 Foundation expressed "closeness and solidarity to Markus Waldner, who received death threats via e-mail after the controversy over the development of the parallel giant of Cortina d''Ampezzo, which fell under its competence. For an event like ours, based on the values of sport and fair play, it is unacceptable that an esteemed professional like Markus receives such serious messages, which go beyond normal debate and comparison. In recent years, all the people who worked at the World Championships in Cortina 2021 have committed themselves with professionalism and passion to the success of this event, on which we accept a frank comparison, but absolutely never sterile and such heavy threats ".
