The world team event gave a real surprise with the norge triumph, after beating Sweden with a yellow linked to the run between Foss-Solevaag and Jakobsen. The declarations of the winners.

After France in Garmisch 2011, the Austrian double between Schladming 2013 and Beaver Creek 2015, again the transalpines in Sankt Moritz 2017 and Switzerland two years ago in Are, it was Norway's turn to Cortina 2021, as regards the team event of the world championships.
A surprise, given that the underdogs were for Switzerland, Germany and Austria above all, but after eliminating the reigning Swiss champions in the semifinals by just two cents, the norge managed to repeat themselves in the final with their Swedish cousins, beaten for 3-1 with ... yellow. The crucial run, second of the series, between Foss-Solevaag and Jakobsen (the best specialist in Sweden and until that perfect moment), was in fact repeated after the latter had partly invaded the Norwegian track, after having committed a line error.
Foss-Solevaag stopped and, as confirmed in the post-race to "VG", he expressly asked the FIS to repeat the test, which he then won. “I saw that Jakobsen was coming towards me and, considering that Sunday I have a very important race (the slalom where he starts among the favorites, ed), I thought not to take risks because in parallel it only takes a moment to get hurt. I went to Markus Waldner and he understood my reasons, so the run was redone according to the regulations ”.
And Jakobsen himself, with great sportsmanship, confirmed to the Norwegian media himself that “I made a mistake in the long run and I saw that Sebastian had stopped. I think it is right to repeat the test in these cases ”.
The Norwegian house party then exploded once Fabian Wilkens Solheim beat Roenngren in the fourth and final run. "Now we feel much lighter after this gold", explained the person concerned referring to the fact that the team was still at zero medals, having presented itself in Cortina in total emergency after the many injuries suffered.
The emotion is all of the female duo protagonist of a great day. “I'm not in my skin, it's an incredible feeling to win a gold medal at the World Cup,” said Thea Louise Stjernesund. And Kristina Riis-Johannessen remarked: "We just had fun, but it's crazy to take home the title with this fantastic team."
