Do you go to an Alpine skiing world championship in Cortina on the original dates, or from 8 to 21 February 2021?
It is quite probable, according to what emerges within the Cortina Foundation 2021 after having re-evaluated the situation globally in the last month, both economically and obviously with regard to the pandemic which, at least in Italy, has taken decisive steps back.
Since the announcement (by surprise) of Giovanni Malagò, on May 24, to request the FIS to move the world championship event to March 2022, many things have changed and, beyond the determined opposition of the athletes to dispute a World Cup a few weeks after the Beijing Olympic Games, several federations will oppose the solution proposed by Italy.
Therefore, the FISI could reverse, leaving the world championship in February 2021, even before the date (Wednesday 1 July) foreseen for the board of the International Federation that must decide on the matter; video conference meeting that could even slip by a few hours, until Thursday 2 July, but the next few hours will already be decisive to understand the progress of the votes.
