The Austrian Federation had been among the first to push to close the 2019/2020 season prematurely on all fronts and now, thanks also to a clearly important budget, it is organizing itself to allow the various working groups of the winter disciplines to be able to rally, fighting the Covid-19 emergency with a specific program.
The federal government has announced guidelines for resuming professional sports training and the OESV has moved accordingly; to guarantee the health of all the athletes and staff in tow, the first tests were started for the national ski jumping team, which must already prepare an appointment which, at present, is confirmed in the calendar. We are talking about the Summer Grand Prix, with the athletes already engaged between Innsbruck and Salzburg for athletic work, but the idea is to develop small groups in the various disciplines to carry out activities even on the snow in May.
Obviously, tests for everyone before and after these trainings, with accommodation used exclusively by the national teams and an exclusive catering service. "With a total of 450 athletes and 250 technicians, we foresee over 1500 tests to allow training in maximum safety, also carrying out a test in collaboration with the University of Innsbruck, regardless of the athletes engaged in training - the words of Federal President Peter Schroecksnadel - It is important for us to find out to what extent our members may have been infected with Covid-19 last season and if they have developed a form of immunization.
