Pinturault-Odermatt, everything remains open. Vlhova already sees the cup, for Gut-Behrami now a mission impossible

The cancellation of the descents could be decisive in negative for the Swiss, who at least hopes in the dispute of the super-g tomorrow to keep the challenge open until the technical tests of the weekend. And the second speed race is the great chance of the other rossocrociato in the race for the general, just 31 points behind Pinturault ...

The rule is discussed and questionable, but it has never been touched over the years, even if it lends itself to some interpretation. The impossibility of moving and recovering the races of the World Cup finals has already affected some season finals in the past, often in Lenzerheide which is not exactly the easiest place to compete in speed tests. And even if Beat Feuz today won his fourth consecutive downhill World Cup (but the margin was wide on Matthias Mayer, 68 points away), in Switzerland there is regret for what happened with the cancellation of the descents, given that the situation is clearly unfavorable to the two rossocrociati in the race for the absolute crystal ball. At the male level, Alexis Pinturault remains in front with 31 points ahead of Marco Odermatt with three races from the end: all open, considering the possibilities of the Nidvaldese between super-g and giant, but clearly the transalpine can smile for the cancellation of a descent where his rival would probably have done better than Alexis, who will have next Sunday's slalom in his favor. It is clear that Pinturault will have to try to get in front of it, to avoid the thrilling of having to finish in the top 15 in such a “dangerous” specialty like that, just think of the fork in the 2nd heat of Kranjska Gora. The women's cup, if it was already more directed towards Petra Vlhova after the weekends of Jasna and Are, now seems to really take the path of Slovakia: Petra Vlhova has 96 points of margin on Lara Gut-Behrami, to whom they remain super-g (if you can compete) and giant to fight on the track, not disputing the slalom scheduled for Saturday. Very tough for the Ticino, as Petra will be able to score heavy points in those two races as well, obviously in addition to her favorite discipline. The joke concerns precisely the weather situation: a clear improvement is expected from Friday, the day in which a team event will be staged useful only for the ranking by nations, or ... useless! While it continues to snow in Lenzerheide, the program now includes the next captains' meeting at 17.00 to assign the bibs in view of the women's super-g, which will open the program on Thursday at 9.30, followed by the men's one at 11.00. But it will also be tough tomorrow, albeit with a few more chances than the descents.
