A weekend without the World Cup, the last of the winter (Covid permitting ...), and with a few hours of rest even from training for some of the top teams.
The exceptions, however, are the slalomgigantisti of Roberto Lorenzi: veterans from the parallel of Lech / Zuers last Friday, Luca De Aliprandini, Giovanni Borsotti, Roberto Nani and Hannes Zingerle have joined teammates Riccardo Tonetti and Daniele Sorio in Livigno for training of preparation, scheduled until Monday, in view of the two giants of Santa Caterina Valfurva on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December. Manfred Moelgg, who is still recovering from the Covid problem, is not present; Marebbano is much better, but his presence for the recovery appointment in Valtellina can now be ruled out, with the focus already fixed on the "home" triptych, or giant on the Gran Risa on December 20, slalom the next day again in Alta Badia and another challenge between the narrow poles on Tuesday 22 December, in the night of Madonna di Campiglio.
The same program that Simon Maurberger is aiming for, but in a situation even more difficult than his colleague since the 25-year-old from Valle Aurina had to stop due to tibial plateau problems caused by the crash on February 9 in Chamonix; who will certainly be there for the first two slalom of CdM, precisely on 21-22 December between Alta Badia and Campiglio, is Alex Vinatzer who has lost a few days of training due to an appendectomy operation, but will soon be back in the group.
The Val Gardena (among other things, fresh from a new personal sponsor, the same one who has accompanied Federica Brignone for years) is not part of the slalomists' poker that has been working since last Friday in Livigno, where Stefano Gross, Giuliano Razzoli, Tommaso Sala and Federico Liberatore (who is finally better with his back) are preparing the debut still more than three weeks away.
And from Monday 30 November, the preparation of women's groups will also start again with the sprinters heading towards the super-g of Sankt Moritz next weekend; for them a lot of work in Cervinia, with Bassino, Brignone, Goggia, Pirovano and Nicol Delago who also trained in parallel with Diavolezza last week to prepare the appointment of Lech / Zuers, while the other girls of the polyvalent group, from Elena Curtoni and Francesca Marsaglia, had a few more days of rest before returning to the track for the last training sessions in view of what, for them, will be the official start of the 2020/21 season.
