Switzerland decimated for Zagreb: Rast, Danioth and Meillard tested positive at Covid

On Tuesday there will be three heavy absences at the Rossocrocia home, with only Holdener, Gisin, Egloff and Stoffel in the race. Nine men lined up for Wednesday's slalom.

A decimated Swiss women's team for the fifth slalom of the World Cup season scheduled for tomorrow in Zagreb. In fact, Swiss-Ski announced in the morning that there will be only four athletes competing on the Sljeme hill, namely Michelle Gisin, Wendy Holdener, Elena Stoffel and Selina Egloff, since there have been three positive cases regarding Camille Rast, veteran from the amazing 7th place in Lienz and in great shape, Aline Danioth who had just returned in the Austrian race last Wednesday, and Melanie Meillard who adds this further problem to the already known physical problems. The PCR tests carried out confirmed the first positive results at Covid and the three athletes therefore did not leave for Croatia, where instead on Wednesday there will be the men's slalom that will see 9 red-crossers at the starting gate. In this case, the team led by Matteo Joris is complete with Ramon Zenhaeusern, Loic Meillard, Daniel Yule, Luca Aerni, Tanguy Nef, Sandro Simonet, Marc Rochat, Reto Schmidiger and Noel Von Gruenigen.
