The choices of the transalpines for the last round of the 2020 World Cup: the overall leader is looking for points on the Stelvio, a Worley found for an encore, exactly ten years after that victory in the Austrian giant.

It will be a decidedly competitive and ambitious France, the one that will present itself in Bormio for the two days of fast races on the “Stelvio”.
Twelve called up for downhill and super-g on 28-29 December, with the confirmation that Alexis Pinturault will play the second race in Valtellina, decidedly technical and suited to his characteristics to look for another result in the points after Val d''Isère and have instead skipped the test in Val Gardena last Friday, to try to defend the leadership of the World Cup from the assault of Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, now at -65 from the transalpine who yesterday collected 40 points in the Campiglio slalom.
There will be internal selection in the tests on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 December, as there are 11 athletes in the dance for next Monday's descent: in addition to Pinturault, the squad are in fact Clarey, Theaux, Raffort, Bailet, Muzaton, Allegre (brilliant in Gardena) , Nils Alphand, a Brice Roger who last year closed his season right on the Stelvio by falling in the second descent after the splendid 7th place the previous day, then Giezendanner, Giraud-Moine and Roy Piccard, fresh from success in the European Cup in the second super-g from Altenmarkt-Zauchensee.
Only four, however, the girls of the Equipe de France called for the technical competitions of Semmering: three athletes will participate in the giant on Monday 28, with the absence for the whole season of the injured Romane Miradoli, or Coralie Frasse- Sombet (on the podium in the giant of Andalo in CE), Doriane Escané and above all Tessa Worley, fresh from third place in the second giant of Courchevel and winner in Semmering on December 28, 2010, exactly ten years before what will be the fourth round of the season specialty.
For next Tuesday slalom there will be no Josephine Forni, with only Escané to double the commitment and Nastasia Noens who will try to bring home a good position.
