Zamboni dominates at the close of the FIS meeting in Tambre, Italian one-two in the slalom with Pettini

A perfect close for Italy, 24 hours after the Tambre giant slalom (on Friday, the FIS meeting had opened with the super-G), which was marked by a new national title for Lorenzo Gritti, third between the wide gates behind the Czechs Vaclav Knor and Robin Polansky, separated by 6 hundredths (the Bergamasque’s deficit was 3 tenths).

Filippo Zamboni was fourth, 0”(3 behind, and Michael Bertagno sixth at 1”34, on the Italian podium behind Gritti, before the athlete from Trentino made the difference in the slalom today.

Zamboni, in fact, beat Nicolò Pettini by 88 hundredths, an excellent second, with Austrian Valentin Lemp Pfannenstill in third place ahead of three more Italians, Buio, Bertagno and Seganti, with Michael and Nathan respectively second and third in the race valid solely for the Junior Cup, won by Lemp Pfannenstill. In the youth circuit, yesterday’s giant slalom saw the Czechs monopolize the podium, while Bertagno won the category’s national title in the discipline ahead of Seganti and Agostini.

On Saturday, the Italian women finished off the podium in the FIS giant slalom won by Tina Hetfleisch, with a 41-hundredth advantage over Slovakia’s Nikola Fricova and 0”44 over the Czech Aneta Koryntova. Nicole Mastalli was once again a leading figure, finishing an excellent fourth, and the discipline’s national title went to the Lombard, with the Italian podium completed by Lisa Lucchese and Margherita Mazzoncini, tenth and eleventh respectively in the overall standings.

At Junior Cup level, Hetfleisch won ahead of Koryntova and Teynor, with Lucchese Italian champion ahead of Palano and Libardi; the Austrian repeated today in the slalom, finishing 56 hundredths ahead of Koryntova, once again on the podium, and 1”16 ahead of compatriot Teynor, producing the same podium in the youth competition as well. Lisa Anastasia Lucchese, sixth overall (with Mazzoncini ninth, ahead in the series of Libardi, Palano and Gatto), finished in the top five in the Junior Cup race.

For Zamboni and Lucchese, naturally, there was also the absolute Italian slalom title to add to their trophy cabinets.
