And 'Anna Bolzan to bring another world medal to Italy: splendid bronze for the Venetian in the sprint

Second day of the World Ski Roller Festival in Madona with a nice surprise and two ... disappointments.

It is Anna Bolzan who gives Italy another medal, after the silver won by Lucia Scardoni in the 10 km classic on Thursday, at the Latvian world championships. The bronze won in the senior sprint among the girls is really very much, won with nails and teeth after a battle that saw the Venetian finish only behind the Swedish Soemskar and Lockner. Among the juniors, however, the world champion did not arrive for Alba Mortagna, world champion two years ago and, surprisingly, eliminated at the end of a semifinal run-up. The success went instead to the Norwegian Julie Henriette Arnesen, ahead of Agafonova and Isaychenkova. Russians who then went wild in the men's junior sprint, signing an author's double with Karakosov and Grigoriev, gold and silver in front of the landlord Saulitis; out in the quarterfinals Riccardo Lorenzo Masiero and Andrea Gartner, who certainly did not start with the favors of the prediction and had done well, finishing in 9th and 11th place in the 20 km classic technique of the previous day. Among the seniors, on the other hand, comes the second disappointment of the day for the Italian national team: the bi world champion Emanuele Becchis comes out in the semifinals as well as his teammate Alessio Berlanda (world champion in 2013, in fact, Italy conquered the title in the format of three consecutive editions) and, eight years after his first world title, it is the Norwegian Ragnar Bragvin Andresen to take back the scepter, forming a podium of the Vikings in front of Olafsen and Ankersen. Saturday the penultimate day of competitions with the free mass start techniques: we start at 2.00 pm with junior and senior women to follow, working in both cases on the 15 km, while the boys (junior and senior) will see it in 20 km.
