The Azzurri's World Cup begins in a great way: triumph for Emanuele Becchis in Slovakia

The inaugural stage of the highest roller ski circuit, in Banska Bystrica, sees the standard-bearer of the Alpi Marittime Ski Club win the Sprint race among the seniors, while the young Sabrina Borettaz beats all at the junior level.

The song of the Italians resounds in the main square of Banska Bystrica (Slovakia) and waves the flag on the first race of the Roller Ski World Cup, thanks to the victories of Emanuele Becchis, in the sprint of the senior male category, and of Sabrina Borettaz among the juniors. The standard bearer of the Ski Club Alpi Marittime signed the second time in qualifying, behind the Norwegian Joistein Olafsen, third time instead for the timeless Alessio Berlanda and 4th for Michele Valerio, revelation of this early season. Borettaz (Amis de Verrayes) also set the fastest time in the first stage, with Anna Bolzan third in the senior category behind Prochazkova and Somskar. In the final stages, Becchis first beat world champion Ragnar Bragvin Andresen (Norway) and then teammate Alessio Berlanda in the semifinals, who then finished in 4th place. In the final the blue prevailed over the Latvian Raimo Vigants. Among the seniors at the women's level, victory of the Swedish Linn Soemskar over the Slovak Alena Prochazkova, fourth Anna Bolzan (Ski club Orsago). In the male juniors, Riccardo Munari made a good comeback who first beat the Latvian Kaparkalejs and then the Slovak Cenek in the semifinal, second half in qualifying. In the final, he only had to surrender to the overwhelming power of the Russian Makarov, best time in qualifying. Sabrina Borettaz, on her debut in CdM, instead went to dominate the decisive test for the success among the juniors. Emanuele Becchis commented on his triumph as follows: “I am happy to return to compete in the World Cup after two years and starting with a victory is always nice. The sprint was staged in a crazy scenario, in the historic center of Banska Bystrica, winning in front of so many people is even more exciting ":
