An irreproachable Frida Karlsson triumphs in the 10 km TC of Oberstdorf. Another difficult day for the Italians

The twenty-three-year-old Swede takes the second success of the season in CdM, conquering the third stage of the Tour de Ski 2023. Great show of strength of the young Swede, winner with a good advantage over the Finnish Krista Parmakoski and the Norwegian Anne Kalvaa. Karlsson now also leads the overall classification of the competition. Unfortunately nothing new in Italy: only Anna Comrella closes in the top 30, twenty-fourth.

Reversal in the Tour de Ski 2023 ranking after today's 10 km classic: the Swedish Frida Karlsson took home the race, dominating from the first km, and overtook Tiril Weng in the general ranking of the event, thus reaching the first virtual position . Sublime test of the Swedish '99 class, which with strength and determination created the void with the opponents right from the time measurement placed 2.1 km from the start. For Karlsson it is the 5th career success in CdM, as well as the first victory in the Tour de Ski. On the podium we also find the Finnish Krista Parmakoski, good at redeeming Sunday's dull race in Val Mustair, 16"6 behind the winner; third place for the Norwegian Anne Kalvaa, 18"1 behind Karlsson. At the foot of the podium we find the Norwegian Tiril Weng, fourth, who still gets very precious points from a general CdM perspective; 5th for the disappointed of the day, Kerttu Niskanen, indicated as favorite number 1, even missed the podium, appearing in physical difficulty in the second half of the race. Sixth was the landlady Katharina Hennig, followed in seventh position by the Austrian Teresa Stadlober, with her best result of the season; eighth was the Norwegian Silje Theodorsen. In 9th place was the surprise of the day, the Slovenian Eva Urevc, with the best result in her career in distance races; tenth place for the Norwegian Heidi Weng. Chapter Italy: unfortunately the canvas does not change compared to the other races, with Anna Comarella in 24th place, 1''39"3 from Karlsson, as the best of the blue team. Caterina Ganz just outside the thirty, thirty-third; still further behind Cristina Pittin (47th place) and Martina Di Centa (53rd place). Tomorrow, Wednesday 4 February, again in Oberstdorf there will be a pursuit (20km) in skating, with departure set for 2.45pm.
