During the FIS plenary session in Portoroz (Slovenia), calendars for the 2017 - '18 jump season were drawn up. Concerning the Men's World Cup it is interesting to note how it was decided to anticipate the opening of the circuit, entrusting it to an unusual location.

Just a couple of changes compared to the April draft. The most significant is the start of the biggest circuit, which will kick off from Wisla on the weekend of November 18-19.
Initially, the location of Silesia was included in the schedule in January, but the Polish federation asked for a loud voice and got the ouverture saying that it was safe to guarantee the necessary snowfall even for the dates indicated.
It is also noted that for Raw Air the event teams were confirmed, initially "cut". The format of the Norwegian event will remain similar to that of the 2016-'17 season, as well as the order of the stages. For logistical reasons, Fis would have preferred to start from Trondheim and have Oslo as the third stage, but the Norwegian federation was accused of not altering anything.
Altogether, there are only 23 individual races worthy of the Crystal Ball. This is because there is an inadequate number of team trials (up to 8). Also in 2018 will be flying the World Flying World Championships scheduled from 19 to 21 January in Oberstdorf, which will not award points for the World Cup.
So the four weekend specials for flights were confirmed, as Bad Mittendorf returns to the schedule, which will proudly test the racing. Also at the end of the season there will be the competitions of Vikersund and Planica.
