Many winter sports ended their competitive year. Not the men's ski jumping, which in fact is about to experience its apotheosis in the Planica, where you will fight for the Crystal Ball and improve the world record already retouched in Vikersund.

NEWS 'The Vikersund weekend was memorable, as the world record of Anders Fannemel (251.5 meters) has been improved twice. Before Robert Johansson (252) and later by Stefan Kraft (253.5).
Even worse were slaughtered seven national records, including the Italian, and three continental records. Planica will be difficult to do better, but for sure there will be a chance to live another emotional weekend.
World record or not, Slovenia will also decide the Crystal Ball, yet still hovering between Stefan Kraft and Kamil Stoch. Just in Vikersund Polish he reacted to Austria's attempt to escape, returning just 31 points. There are still two races, so the situation is extremely uncertain.

HISTORY Planica is in effect a "Super Classic" of the discipline, since it has hosted at least a top-level competition in all the winters from 1979 to today.
Also the location of the Julian Alps has taken on an almost outright the role of the final stage of the season. Indeed it closes in Slovenia for the thirteenth consecutive winter and for the nineteenth time in the last twenty years.
Besides, this is a cult location thanks to the Letalnica bratov Gorišek bratov Gorišek, on which the world record jump on skis was improved 28 times between 1969 and 2005.
Actually Planica was favored setting for the overthrow of the world record since the 30s, when it opened the trampoline Bloudkova velikanka, at the time the largest orb terracqueo.
At that plant, between 1934 and 1948, they were established 10 world records, among which includes the first historic leap beyond 100 meters, made by Austrian Sepp Bradl March 15, 1936.
However, since the 50s, the construction dell'Heini-Klopfer-Schanze in Oberstdorf, followed by the Kulm and Vikersundbakken, tore the Bloudkova velikanka the role of "diving records".
In the mid '60s, however, Planica decided to recover the lost role, basting the construction of a new, giant trampoline. The structure was designed and built by brothers Lado and Janez Gorišek, which was then called.
Completed in early 1969, the first official competitions were held on Letalnica bratov Gorišek bratov Gorišek 21 to 23 March of the same year. In those three days the world record, at the time fixed at 154 meters, was improved five times with the East German Manfred Wolf to eventually reach 165 meters.
The March 17, 1994 was knocked down for the first time in the history of the 200m threshold. Before the Austrian Andreas Goldberger reached 202, but placed his hands on the snow, invalidating the record. Therefore it was the Finn Toni Nieminen, came to 203 only a few minutes later to go down in history as the man able to break down the milestone.
On 20 March 2005, in an epic race where the world record fell repeatedly, Bjørn Einar Romøren touched 239 meters before Janne Ahonen landed at 240.5, but ending up on the ground. The primacy of the Norwegian is still the last established in this place.
The trampoline, a HS215, had in fact reached its limit. When the FIS, in 2010, changed the construction parameters of the flight systems it was possible to make a new restructuring that brought the K point at 200 meters and the 225 HS point.
Altogether in Planica were played the beauty of 70 top-level competitions, 41 of them on the Flying Hill: 36 valid for the Crystal Ball in addition to 5 Flying World Championships (1972, 1979, 1985, 2004, 2010).
There are 27 athletes have set it at least once on Letalnica bratov Gorišek bratov Gorišek. Among them the most successful of all is Gregor Schlierenzauer, which offers 5 hits (two in 2008, which is followed by one in 2009, one in 2011 and one in 2013).
Realizing the 'Austrian seven vaulters in business to have excelled in the context of the flights. It is Peter Prevc, 3 times (2015, two in 2016). They count 2 statements for Jurij Tepes (2013, 2015) and Robert Kranjec (2012, 2016). Single Success for Noriaki Kasai (1999), Simon Ammann (gold champion 2010) and Kamil Stoch (2011).
So, as you can see, Kranjec and Tepes excelled on both versions of flight trampoline.
For their part Prevc, Kasai and Severin Freund also have a success on Bloudkova velikanka, the current Large Hill Letalnica bratov Gorišek complex.
The official records of the trampoline was established in 2015 by Peter Prevc, capable of speeds of 248.5 meters. However it should not forget that last year, during a training jump, Tilen Bartol went even to 252 but could not remain standing.
