On the historic Wielka Krokiew of Zakopane (Pol), among the red and white crowd that has returned to fill the stands of the Polish facility, this afternoon the ski jumping World Cup weekend officially began. Slovenia in great shape thanks to a super Peter Prevc, who brought his team to a clear and never questioned success. Germany ranks second, with Japan third by only 6 tenths. Tomorrow the individual race is scheduled, where there will be no Italians at the start.

The result was never in question, despite the fickle wind that changed direction several times and forced the race direction to make numerous changes of starting pole. Lovro Kos, Timi Zajc and Anze Lanisek expressed themselves on excellent levels, but the MVP was Peter Prevc, who made two exceptional jumps, with the second one even beyond the HS point (140.5 m) and a "twenty" received by the judges. Halfway through the race the advantage was almost 30 points and in the second series it further increased to reach 67 points.
Success in a team event had been lacking for Slovenia since March 2019, when they won on the Vikersund flight board. On Large Hill, on the other hand, the victory had been missing since February 2016, when the Slovenes prevailed over Norway and Japan.
Japan who was mocked to the last in the fight for the place of honor. By only 6 tenths Germany snatched second place at the last jump, thanks to an excellent Geiger, who overtook Ryoyu Kobayashi. Fourth and disappointed Austria which, after winning the first two Team Events of the season, has never been fighting for the victory today, paying a considerable gap since the first jump. Fifth was Norway, which finished ahead of Poland, without Kamil Stoch and Dawid Kubacki, and Russia 7a. 8th instead the Czech Republic, which won the platonic challenge for the penultimate place with Kazakhstan.
