With the German stages of Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen already in the archives and with the race in Innsbruck at the gates (tomorrow the qualification will be staged and the race on Tuesday), let's take a look at the ranking of the 70th edition of the Vierschanzentournée.

With two victories in the first two stages, the ranking is led by Ryoyu Kobayashi, who with his success in the classic at the beginning of the year also took the yellow bib as leader of the overall World Cup classification. The Japanese in Garmisch-Partenkirchen also obtained the 7th victory in stages of the Tournée, equalizing what Kamil Stoch did and reaching two points behind Schlierenzauer and Ahonen. Between Innsbruck and Bischofshofen he will have the goal of hitting the second "Grand Slam" of his career, a feat which was already successful in the 2018/19 edition and which, if repeated, would be legendary.
Waiting for the two Austrian tests, which will start tomorrow with the qualification on the Bergiselschanze, Kobayashi's points advantage over Lindvik, second in the standings, are 13.2. The Norwegian has already triumphed in Innsbruck in January 2020 and could prove to be a worthy opponent for the Japanese. The mental and technical stability of Lovro Kos, currently third at 17.7 points from the leader and a real surprise of this edition, has to be tested.
Germany, which has not won the Vierschanzentournée since 2001/02 with Hannawald, appeals to Markus Eisenbichler, back in the race after Garmisch's excellent place of honor. The gap is 21.1 points, recoverable if Kobayashi were to run into an empty pass. The one who committed the most quoted German, namely Karl Geiger, slipped to sixth place by over 30 points, also behind Halvor Egner Granerud. The third norge, Robert Johansson, is 7th at 33 points.
The only Italian classified occupies the 47th square: Giovanni Bresadola. The blue has two jumps out of four, having passed both qualifications but not having scored points for the World Cup. His goal in Austria will be to make it past the cut again.
