At 13:30 the first series takes place. The Japanese, already winner of the two German stages and yesterday's qualification, is the undisputed favorite. The blue, brilliant also on the Bergiselschanze, is looking for the challenge of entering the points. Meanwhile Kamil Stoch leaves the competition.

It is a matter of enterprise, since the twenty-year-old in force in the army, after having achieved an excellent performance in qualifying, closed in 27th place, will have to go head-to-head with the German Stephan Leyhe: an athlete of superior caliber to the blue and currently 8th in the ranking of the Tour of the four trampolines.
Ranking which is led by Ryoyu Kobayashi. The Japanese will jump last and face another German Pius Paschke. The closest of the pursuers in the golden eagle race, Norwegian Marius Lindvik has instead partially pierced the qualifying jump and will miss twenty minutes before his rival, in an affordable head-to-head with Finnish Niko Kytosaho. He did not disappoint Lovro Kos, 5th yesterday, who will find Aigner on his path. At home Germany, Eisenbichler will face the fearsome Tschofenig, while Geiger should have no problem overtaking Zak Mogel.

Among the active athletes capable of conquering the Bergiselschanze stands the name of Kamil Stoch, winner on this springboard in 2018 and 2021. The Pole, however, was clearly eliminated in qualifying and seems to be in both technical and mental difficulties. Stoch, in agreement with the technical staff, therefore decided to leave the Tour prematurely and return to Poland. The three-time winner of the golden eagle will therefore not be present in Bischofshofen, where, in addition to the traditional test on 06 January, an individual competition and a Team event are scheduled between 8 and 9 January.
The two Tournée rivals Kobayashi (2019) and Lindvik (2020) also boast a success in Innsbruck, as well as Markus Eisenbichler, who could be the third wheel and won in 2019 at the World Championships. Austria, on the other hand, is hoping for Jan Hoerl, who was excellent in qualifying, to bring home a victory that has been missing here since 2013, when Gregor Schlierenzauer won.
