Hattestad go down in history being able to be the only one in the world, after Tor Arne Hetland, to have won over the world and the ranking of world cup of cuisine, including Olympic gold in the sprint, standing on his head from the first to the last meter from qualification to the final victory.
Second was placed Teodor Peterson, who came to the final sprint with Norwegian, he had completed his energy and he got up, contenting themselves with a great silver medal.
But behind the first two happened pretty much everything: Emil Joensson had already fallen in the early stages of the final, fatigued from the previous rounds, but the gift came from the other three finalists placed before him, in fact the Norwegian Gloeersen fell down, with Marcus Hellner who to avoid falls and also Sergey Ustiugov that fails to prevent Hellner and centered in the middle Swedish.
In all this benefits Joensson, with Hellner who takes a nasty blow, Ustiugov who has a broken stick and Gloeersen that is no longer able to push. Unexpected gift for the Swede, who takes out the last remaining energy to keep the third place at the finish, before collapsing just after the final.
Mulls Dario Cologna in the quarterfinals, falling twice alone and calling out of the fight for the medals, while out in the semifinals Petter Northug that even today proves not to be in shape.
Federico Pellegrino out in the semifinals, getting up with Northug, not having energy to spend, while David Hofer third coming out in the quarter-final, there is to complain but the last curve in which the Italian was held off and allowed the inclusion of the Austrian Tritscher in front of him.
