There are no more adjectives to describe Felix Loch: winning in Oberhof, the Sonneberg luge has won his eighth victory of the season, getting closer and closer to the mathematical victory of the general World Cup, which could already take place in Igls, next weekend .
Loch dominated the race ahead of Austrians Jonas Mueller and David Gleirscher respectively by 24 and 44 cents. Off the podium the other two top German athletes: 4th Johannes Ludwig, 5th Max Langhenan.
With yesterday's success, Felix Loch was less than three wins from the record for victories in the World Cup, held by Armin Zoeggeler and Markus Prock.
Bad for the Italian team: the best was Dominik Fischnaller, 10th, followed by his cousin Kevin, 11th. The other two blues in the race are even further behind: Lukas Gufler 25th and Alex Gufler 32nd.
In the women's race Natalie Geisenberger wins her 50th success in the World Cup. Great performance by the hostess who clearly beat the Austrian Madeleine Egle, on the second podium of the career. Third place for another German athlete: Anna Berreiter. Fourth the winner of Sigulda, Tatyana Ivanova, fifth the leader of the general classification of the World Cup, Julia Taubitz, who loses several points of advantage that she had over Geisenberger, but who at the same time remains the favorite thanks to the Igls stage, where in the sprint race can score very heavy points.
For Italy only Andrea Voetter is saved, a good eighth at the end of the race. Back Verena Hofer, seventeenth, and Nina Zoeggeler, twenty-seventh.
The Austrians Steu-Koller, on the other hand, are getting closer and closer to their first doubles World Cup. In Oberhof the success over the hosts Wendl-Artl came by only nine thousandths, recovering three positions from the first heat; 3rd place for the Latvian brothers Sics, always present in the high areas of the standings in these last races.
For the Austrian doubles, therefore, there could be a trophy that Austria lacks from the 2011-2012 season, when the Linger brothers triumphed, before the German monopoly on the doubles ranking.
Missing the acute in the blue house: Ludwig Rieder and Patrick Rastner finish fifth. Top ten also for Ivan Nagler and Fabian Malleier, ninth. Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner instead finished in 11th place.
