Aim for the target: anticipate the trajectory and enjoy the acceleration

In this video, Jam Session revisits a key concept for skiing with greater safety and fluidity: the loss of altitude from the beginning to the end of the turn and the ability to accompany it with the whole body, not just the skis.

The main difficulty often stems from the fear of the steep section, the heart of the turn. But if you are confident in your balance on the outside ski, you can change your approach: instead of being overwhelmed by the gradient, you can enjoy the acceleration. The more your technique evolves and the more your speed increases, the more important it becomes to accept and manage this acceleration all the way to the exit.

The key is to decide in advance:

  • at the turn entry, choose where you want to finish it

  • develop the turn with the intention of exiting it down there

  • in the steep section, accelerate towards the exit you have already visualized

It is the same principle as riding a motorcycle or driving a car: you do not enter a turn “blind,” but knowing where it ends and when to open the throttle. On skis, it works the same way: you do not think about the turn you are making; you think about moving away from it, and the turn takes shape in real time.

Visualize the exit, load the outside ski, accelerate with intention. Your skiing becomes more stable, rounder and decidedly more enjoyable.
