Neveitalia Test Team: Interview with Anastasia Cigolla

Cigolla Anastasia knows English, French and German, was advisor FIS athlete in the last four years and is nominated as a lay counselor at the next election. We met her to invite her to join Group Ski Tester Neveitalia 2012-2013 and on the occasion to ask you some questions.
Tell us something about you. How did you come to the world of competitive skiing and what were your greatest accomplishments?
I started as almost all children, with the first steps in the snow in preschool, along with my brother Igor. My flagship sport has always been my father who taught me a lot, and outside in the snow.
I immediately felt a great attraction to this sport. Of course, all instinct, as is normal for children.
What gave me and gives me skiing is not some specific result, but the boundless passion for a sport that teaches discipline, but also offers some beautiful things. A sport that makes you grit your teeth in the cold and fog, but you radiating sun when the clouds disappear, that takes your breath when you exercise or go down a lot of difficult terrain, but intoxicates you with fresh air when your eyes rises and settles on the tops of our mountains.
How long have you lived in the environment of the FIS and what were the charges that you have covered?

How did you live this tormented stage of removal of Morzenti and commissioner of the federation?
"Tormented" has been almost four years this. It bad when you live in a body responsible for sport, but you can not make the best contribution possible. But now it is important to look ahead and talk about future projects.
In your opinion, what is missing at the Cross home to be at the national level, Austrian, Swiss, U.S.?
There are already many good things, and athletes with their results - and the efforts of those who prepare them - prove it. From the strategic point of view we need more pragmatism sports, focus on the essence of the needs of athletes and those who work for them. And a federal structure leaner.
As for the little ones, what are the essential things to teach them?
Children are wonderful, and the things to be transmitted are the same as ever. Passion, discipline, willpower and taste for fun. But now the problem in their relationship with the parents: too focused to build champions of the future, often lose sight of the true values ​​of sport ; teach. And the sport becomes a job that creates frustration and a sense of defeat when the results are excellent, thus generating many dropouts rather than being a means to confront the challenges and to learn to grow. This is an important challenge for the future: reversing the trend and be able to keep close to the sport that children become adults.
Neveitalia embarked last year on the path of the evaluation of skis sold on market. In your opinion what should be the first target for a magazine that wants to seek the authority in this area?
The consistency of assessment and honesty in communication. This is for the authority. Then entertain, teach, make known.
