Today, April 15, during the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, the proposal to allocate the 700 million euros made available by the Mountain Tourism Support Decree, plus a further 100 million euros, was approved.

The news was communicated by Roberto Failoni, Councilor for Tourism of the Autonomous Province of Trento, who on his personal facebook page illustrated in detail the breakdown of the compensation: 430 million euros will be allocated for the compensation of the ski lifts, applying the method already used in France which is based on the decrease in turnover between the winter seasons 2019/2020, these resources will be allocated directly by the State to the individual plant companies. As is known, in the snow sector these activities are strategic for the related industries they generate. 40 million is the budget foreseen for the compensation of ski instructors and these resources will be divided among the Regions on the basis of the number of members in the professional registers. It will therefore be the Regions that will determine the attribution to individual instructors and ski schools. Finally, the distribution of the 230 million indemnities destined for all VAT numbers of the supply chain was defined, the share due to the individual Regions for the compensation of restaurants, shelters, renters, suppliers and all related activities. For this last allocation, the Conference of Regions approved the request made by the Regions to increase the Fund with an additional 100 million euros, reaching a total amount of 800 million euros.
"It is the first time - explain the exponents of the Alpine Regions and Abruzzo - that the government establishes an intervention aimed at mountain tourism, one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic, and it does so with article 2 of the Sostegni Decree, putting in place 800 million euros ".
Now the Regions are asking the Government to compress the times as much as possible to ensure that the indemnified activity receives the resources in the shortest possible time.
