Where to go skiing in the pre-Christmas weekend

Here are some tips on where to go skiing on the weekend of 21 and 22 December.

VALLE D'AOSTA A snow weekend is planned in Valle d'Aosta. We offer a weekend in Courmayeur where all the ski lifts are open at the moment with the exception of the Le Greye ski lift and the Arp and Youla cable cars. For families with children, on Saturday 21 December, in the evening, the Christmas Ice Show will be held. LOMBARDY In Lombardy a sunny weekend is expected with possible rain on Sunday afternoon. We recommend going skiing in Aprica where, after a day on the slopes, you can stroll in the Christmas Village among the craft markets. Also, on Saturday 21 December there will be a Christmas Concert with the Aprica Music Corps. VENETO Weekend with a rainy day (Saturday) and a snowy day (Sunday). We propose a skiing in Faloria, on the snows of the Cristallo, where all the ski lifts are open. PIEDMONT In Piedmont a weekend of snow is expected with some possible opening. Here we suggest you go skiing in San Domenico di Varzo, a small town on the border with Switzerland, where this weekend the boys under 14, living in Piedmont, can take advantage of the free daily ski pass thanks to the “Piemonte on piste” initiative. TRENTINO ALTO ADIGE This weekend snow is expected on Saturday and on Sunday. In Trentino we recommend going skiing in the Paganella ski area where on Sunday 22 December you can be the first on the ski slopes, enjoy the first light of dawn and immaculate snow with the Paganella Ski Sunrise event - Ski & Gourmet Experience. Early risers will have the opportunity to ski from 7.45 am to 8.30 am on the Olympic slope, while non-skiers can participate in the snow walk to the Cesare Battisti Refuge where a gourmet breakfast will be prepared. In South Tyrol we propose instead to make two curves in Alta Badia where you can watch the men's World Cup giant on the Gran Risa, one of the most exciting and anticipated events of the winter season. FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA In Friuli - Venezia Giulia cloudy weekend with possible rains. We propose to make a stop in Sappada that this weekend will kick off the new winter season and where the little ones can have fun at Nevelandia, the large playground with rafts, bobsleigh and toboggan run, skating rink, snowmobiles and a small train. EMILIA ROMAGNA A weekend with mixed rain snow and possible bright spells is expected. We suggest skiing on the slopes of the Cimone ski area, which this weekend will open the ski lifts with ski pass promotions and overnight stay for the start of the new winter season. Although the weather is not beautiful, from this year two new large transparent tunnels will allow skiers, both experts and beginners, to move faster and away from the elements.
