Yesterday, January 2, the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, signed the ordinance which postpones the reopening of the ski facilities to January 18, 2021.

Federfuni Italia intervenes on the opening of the general lifts in consideration of the decision taken by Minister Speranza and communicates:
"We are saddened by this further postponement for the opening of the ski lifts, currently only postponed to January 18 without the necessary guarantees that this date represents the opening for the districts of the Regions in the Yellow Zone and therefore it is necessary that there is, already now, a reflection on the compensation necessary to keep the ski resorts alive and in particular the companies that manage cableways, the true fulcrum of the mountain economy ”.
"Our proposal is based on some general considerations that we try to summarize:
1. The difficult situation in which the companies of the Apennines find themselves after a winter season like the previous one which had begun when the first lockdown was declared and which naturally worsened with these postponements opening also this season;
2. The lower capacity of intervention of the Alpine Regions with Ordinary Statute compared to the Provinces and Autonomous Regions;
3. The need for the desired compensation to be calculated taking into account an average of the last three seasons excluding the 2019/2020 one, and for any changes to the ski lifts to be taken into account;
4. The fact that the request for further postponement was made by the Alpine Regions ”.
"As a result of these reflections, we ask that the Government, Parliament and the Conference of Regions, which have an important opinion, take into account our requests and apply a criterion for sharing the funds that is fair to the different situations that the Italian mountains are experiencing and that, consequently, no allocations of funds for previous laws are taken into account (See Law 363/03). Of course we believe that this is an approach that applies to the entire tourism sector. Finally, we ask to have the possibility of a hearing at the Transport Commission and the Productive Activities Commission of the Chamber of Deputies in order to be able to adequately justify our requests and present the proposal for a timely plan for the distribution of funds we have drawn up. for the formulation of the protocol we note some critical issues on the timing, not attributable to the Conference of Regions and the CTS, but we believe that the result achieved, with the contribution of all, can also be shared from the point of view of the health situation, providing for various limitations between the such as that of a complete opening of the districts only with regional or provincial indexes referring to the yellow areas but we believe that in these conditions, if not changed, the opening of the lifts could be brought forward to January 16, thus giving the possibility to the districts that live to proximity tourism to have a first important refreshment e direct conomic being above all in a position to be able to prepare everything provided for by the protocol approved by the Conference of Regions ".
The Association gathers companies located in most of the Italian regions, mainly with ordinary statutes.
