The Alpine Regions do not give up and elaborate a new proposal for the Government so that the ski lifts can be opened at Christmas.

The new proposal of the Councilors of the Regions provides for the possibility of skiing only for those who stay at least one night in the different destinations or for those who own or rent a second home in the ski areas to avoid crowds in tourist resorts.
"The solution that we propose to the Conte government allows you to start the winter season gradually, in this way you can apply the safety protocols that we approved last Monday and put them to the test" - say the Councilors of the Alpine Regions - "In fact, if we allow the purchase of ski passes only for those who have stayed overnight in an accommodation facility or in a second home we will be able to accurately know the number of customers for each day and in this way we will be able to better manage the inflow and outflow to the ascent. This is a reasonable solution, to be adapted to the needs of each territory. The government listen to us, allow the opening of the ski lifts with this criterion and allow regional mobility. If the Technical Scientific Committee and the Government intend to prohibit it to avoid parties and moments of aggregation, at least allow mobility between Regions for those who have booked at least one night in an accommodation facility. Finding a compromise with the government of Rome to avoid a total closure of the winter tourist resorts is a must, the survival of the mountain, its workers and its 20 billion allied assets are at stake ".
The proposal bears the signature of Daniel Alfreider (Vice President of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano), Luigi Giovanni Bertschy (Vice President of the Autonomous Region of Valle d'Aosta), Sergio Bini (Councilor for Tourism of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia), Martina Cambiaghi (Councilor for Sport Region Lombardia), Federico Caner (Veneto Region Councilor for Tourism), Roberto Failoni (Autonomous Province of Trento Tourism Councilor) and Fabrizio Ricca (Piedmont Region Councilor for Sport).

Ai maggiori flussi turistici non si è associato né un aumento del consumo di suolo né una maggiore produzione di rifiuti, dimostrando il potenziale del riconoscimento UNESCO nel generare benefici economici locali senza compromettere la qualità ambientale, a condizione che siano in atto un efficace coordinamento istituzionale e solide garanzie normative.
