The protocol is being worked on in view of the 2021/2022 winter season

The AMSI (Association of Italian Ski Instructors) and the National College of Italian Ski Instructors are working with the mountain and snow sports bodies to develop a specific protocol, the "mountain" protocol, to be sent to the Government soon.

The objective, which we intend to pursue with the utmost attention to the professional activity of the Ski Instructors, is to provide all the information and protocols (already prepared and received by the CTS during the autumn 2020 for the 2020.21 season) necessary for the resumption of winter tourist activity next season, obviously including the essential teaching activity for skiers (alpine and Nordic) and snowboarding. The first important step, in view of the "drafting" of the Protocol, took place on Wednesday 30 June at the Milan office of the FISI. In addition to the FISI President Flavio Roda (promoter of the initiative), representing the Snow Professionals Gianni Poncet (Deputy Vice President of AMSI) and Giuseppe Cuc (President of the National College of Ski Instructors), then Valeria Ghezzi were present at the appointment. (President of ANEF, the National Association of Cable Car Operators) accompanied by Renzo Minella, the FISI Medical Commission with the President Andrea Panzeri and doctors Giovanni Montani and Simone Porcelli together with a representative of the track homologators with Ernesto Rigoni and Elena Gaja. As a result of the meeting, it emerged, with great clarity, also with the comfort of a plurality of data collected in the various areas of the activities represented at the table: skiing is a sport that can be considered safe. All the activities allowed by the legislation, regimented with specific protocols, were carried out in an almost total absence of criticalities, this is a clear testimony that mountain sports are absolutely practicable. The sector of Ski Instructors and Ski Schools after a year and a half of blocking the teaching activity towards the public, Italian and foreign, can no longer afford not to restart, and it goes without saying how this passes through the opening of the ski lifts for tourists and a free use of the hotel facilities by them, all of course in complete safety. The Presidents Bonelli for AMSI and Cuc for COL.NAZ. express great satisfaction with what emerged in the meeting held on 30 June at the headquarters of the FISI. It emerges, with undoubted clarity, that skiing and winter sports in general are at a low risk of contagion. In conclusion, the foundations have been laid for the drafting of a specific Protocol, shared between all the professional players in the mountains, aimed at recovery and, therefore, at supporting the economic, social and sporting activities of the Italian mountain sector. With the aim of being ahead of the times and becoming the first promoters of this important action to support the mountains, a document will be quickly presented to the Government so that the entire sector can be ready to face the near future with the right determination.
