The first Prime Ministerial Decree of the Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, extends the closure of the ski lifts until 6 April. Thus, after the Immaculate Conception, Christmas, New Year and Carnival, now Easter is also missing, the last recurrence of the winter season in which the practice of skiing could be combined with a few days of vacation. Dolomiti Superski with its affiliated ski areas, acknowledges and communicates that in the winter season 2020-21 the Dolomiti Superski system will be closed to the public. The possibility remains open that single consortium companies open individually after the date provided for by the Decree, if the conditions exist.
“We are very sorry, for our consortium members, for our collaborators, for all those who are part of the winter mountain tourism chain, but above all for the millions of loyal customers to the Dolomites. With the extension of the ban on skiing until after Easter, the conditions to be able to plan the umpteenth opening and offer a service to all our users no longer exist. We can only close the 2020-21 winter season without ever having been able to start it ”, declares Andy Varallo, President of Dolomiti Superski.
In collaboration with the Regions and strictly following the instructions of the CTS, procedures had already been set up for the summer season which ensured the use of the ski lifts in conditions of absolute safety. In the same way, with enthusiasm and a great desire to do, the 2020-21 winter season was prepared by investing significant economic resources in systems for sanitizing the plants, digital tools to guarantee social distancing and to avoid gatherings at the cash desks. The online sale of the cards was conceived from scratch and finally tools were created to manage the local quota of users, in view of a possible opening in December first, in mid-January then, in February, March and now April. All the efforts of plant engineers, hoteliers, restaurateurs, traders, ski instructors and the rest of the players in the supply chain, however, have been in vain.
“We believed until the end that our considerable efforts would bring the hoped-for results. Many users have made us aware of their disappointment during the winter and have supported us in our commitment. We are close to all those who have been particularly affected by the pandemic, but also to those who have had to give up an important period to interrupt their everyday life and to all those who have lost their daily bread. But now we can't wait to be able to leave again. We are already active in preparing and guaranteeing the summer season for mountain lovers, whether they are hikers, mountainbikers or families, with our Dolomiti SuperSummer "continues Andy Varallo who does not hide a certain disappointment, given that in other neighboring countries such as in Switzerland , the ski season took place and, thanks to a high level of discipline and a system of clear rules, a very important economic branch was safeguarded and there were no negative effects on the pandemic situation.
The plant engineering companies affiliated with Dolomiti Superski, in concert with those at national and international level, are now asking for a serious and rapid discussion in terms of refreshments, to guarantee the future of this important economic system, from which the existential basis and from the which depend on thousands of families.
Dolomiti Superski also announces that all rebalancing measures for holders of Dolomiti Superski and Valle passes, relating to the early end of the 2019-20 season, will obviously be valid during the 2021-22 winter season. The details and further information on this will be published in the next few days on the website and through the social channels of Dolomiti Superski.

Argentera
