The Choices documentary is the first film to be announced as part of the 2017-2018 European Outdoor Film Tour season and is dedicated to the 43-year-old Stephen Davis jumper and climber base.

E.O.F.T will premiere on October 5 in Munich while the tour will begin next day and will feature thirteen European countries, including Italy, where 20 appointments are scheduled. The final program will be announced in September and will consist of 6-8 documentaries dedicated to outdoor, sports, travel and of course the adventure. The protagonist of the first documentary, Steph Davis, was thinking of taking his career as a lawyer but in 1991 he discovered rock climbing and falling in love completely devoted to it, a decision he never regretted. Here's how the press release of the event describes the Choices documentary dedicated to her.
"What shall we do today? Skydiving before lunch? Or basejumping? Decisions of this kind are on the agenda for Steph Davis. If she could ask her dog Cajun, she would be happy with base jumping. The noise of the engine and the unknown faces on the starting track make her afraid, but during the baseball she is quite at ease. Steph follows with euphoria climbing to the top of a steep wall. Wait for Steph's parachute to open with a bunch after throwing it into the void, take a look at the landing point and run all over the beer down the mountain. All this happens on a normal Friday morning near Moab in Utah (USA).
Here, the Stephen Davis climber and base jumper has been home for over twenty years. She shares the cottage in a suburb of the city with her partner Ian, the Cajun dog and the Mao cat. A small oasis in an arid and desert area where rarely green plants are seen and where dried shrubs extend to the next wall to climb. It was propitious for this spectacular sandstone rock and for those infinite ways to climb that in the mid 90's, Steph Davis decided to abandon nomadic life and move from a four-wheeled home to one with four walls.
Today, Steph Davis is forty years old. He owns a garden house and a dog - although he shares little with the lives of his neighbors, who bring their children to school, have stable jobs and go on vacation once a year. A road that she seemed destined for - until she discovered the climb in 1991. She abandoned law schooling to engage in climbing, makes her own home and lives in the day. An uncommon decision that has proved successful over the years. Steph Davis was the first woman to conquer all the peaks of Fitz Roy in Patagonia. The first to climb the El Capitan Salathé Wall in Yosemite freely. And she is also the first woman to complete the climb in free only - ie without rope and without protections - of a 6c street (5.11). For Steph Davis, this is the purest form of climbing, but is also the one with the highest risks and the most serious consequences.
Steph Davis knows how to live a lifetime to the limit. Four years ago she lost her husband, Mario Richard, to a baseball jump in the Dolomites. Even her first husband, Dean Potter, died in 2015 in a baseball jump. Despite this, Steph does not abandon his dream of flying - a passion shared by his current fellow Ian.
