Skicross: the last act of the continental circuit saw the Trentino unlock with the first success, while Yanick Gunsch and Jole Galli close in second place in the general classification.

Simone Deromedis and Yanick Gunsch smile, Jole Galli twists her mouth a little. The Italian skicross standard bearers were the absolute protagonists of the European Cup finals staged on the Costabella slope, in the Passo San Pellegrino ski area, in Val di Fassa.
Organized by the Agonistica Trentina ski club on the track for three years, the official training center of Team Italia, the final event of the season as regards the continental circuit, saw the 20-year-old triumph for the first time in his career in the European Cup. Trentino Simone Deromedis (Ski club Anaune) who interpreted the big final best of all. Starting well, at the first woops the blue is second behind his teammate Yanick Gunsch, but in the jump and in the final parabolics he manages to grab the leadership he maintains until the finish line.
And with Yanick Gunsch second, here is an extraordinary double made in Italy (with the French Alexis Jay in 3rd place) with the South Tyrolean second in the overall standings of the European Cup, behind the transalpine Romain Mari, fourth in the final race.
At the female level, Jole Galli was enough to get on the podium to win the final classification, but in the big final the 25-year-old from Livigno slowed down in the final jump due to an error by the athlete who preceded her and was no longer able to recover, closing fourth and losing the European Cup by only 8 points. And so victory around the neck of the Swiss Saskja Lack, capable of obtaining a double success in Val di Fassa. As for the placings of the other Azzurri, Dominik Zuech closes eighth, despite not having participated in the small final due to a blow to the knee, Jannes Debertoli is 17th, tied with Pascal Rizzi and Jamie Lee Castello. Twenty-sixth is then Patrick Wolfsgruber, then 33rd Simone Cavallar.
In a female key, another excellent performance for Andrea Chesi, who closes in ninth position, touching the small final. Giorgia Graifermberg as well as Nathalie Bernard, both 17th. Injury without serious consequences for Rebecca Paoli in the quarter-finals, she will close 25th. The two-day European Cup in Passo San Pellegrino also had the task of assigning the Italian titles. Absolute gold for Yanick Gunsch, ahead of Simone Deromedis and Dominik Zuech, while among the juniors Deromedis himself triumphs over Cavallar and Wolfsgruber. In the women's field, the title for Jole Galli over the 17 year old Andrea Chesi, then bronze for Rebecca Paoli. The junior podium is all from Trentino with Chesi first, Paoli second and Giorgia Graifemberg third.
