Inspection on the "Baranci", there will be many news for the CdM of skicross in San Candido

The classic appointment in the 3 Peaks / Dolomites area next 21-22 December. "We will completely change the starting area and the track will be even more selective".

The Ski Cross World Cup in Italy means ... San Candido. Shortly before Christmas, the traditional stage of the maximum circuit will again stop in the 3 Peaks / Dolomites area. In the past few hours the FIS inspection on the Baranci slope, considered the symbol of the discipline, the toughest with its 1200 meters in length. Some changes were made during the traditional summer meeting in South Tyrol; the inspection was attended by the track builder Andreas Silbernagl (Prinoth), Klaus Waldner (FIS skicross race manager), Anna Banach (Infront), Luigi Catalfamo (Infront director), Kurt Sulzenbacher (race director in San Candido) and Gabriel Fauster ( general secretary in San Candido). “Next winter we will completely change the starting area and make it even more selective. The best ski crossers in the world here will no longer be able to afford to make mistakes, otherwise they will go off the track - says Gabriel Fauster - We will also change the central part of the Baranci track: in that stretch the track will be wider and faster, allowing more overtaking maneuvers. At the same time we will do everything possible to anticipate possible dangerous situations ”. Next winter the World Cup caravan will be expected in San Candido on Sunday 18 December. After a day of training, the two qualifiers will take place on Tuesday 20th. Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 here are the two challenges (probable race time set at 12.00) for success in the wonderful 3 Peaks / Dolomites area: “Of course for us as a tourist destination, the appointment before Christmas is ideal. In general, with our competitions, as well as those of our colleagues in Carezza, Val Gardena and Alta Badia, all of South Tyrol can benefit from the concentration of winter sports and beautiful television images just before the holidays, for make a stay in our fantastic mountains attractive for guests, ”concluded Fauster.
