After a year of absence, the 12th edition of a great classic will be on the "Baranci" track. Double race on Sunday 19th and Monday 20th, the Azzurri are expected among the great protagonists.

After a year of absence due to a pandemic, the Ski Cross World Cup returns to San Candido, for the historic South Tyrolean stage on the "Baranci" slope, the fourth stage of the circuit with a double race, Sunday 19 and Monday 20 December, and a very rich program open from training on Friday 17th and from qualifying on Saturday 18th.
It will be the 12th edition of the South Tyrolean classic; in the heart of the Dolomites, everything is ready, the snow conditions are excellent and the work on the 1200 meter track, one of the longest and most demanding on the circuit, is almost complete. As in previous years, also this year the ski crossers will find some changes on the Baranci: the initial sequence, the central part and also the final jump have been modified by the organizers, all this will give even more spice to the races.
A great event, in which even the fans can take part: all the World Cup tests that will take place this year in South Tyrol will take place in the presence of the public. 75% of the maximum capacity will be admitted, to access fans must be in possession of the Super Green Pass (therefore be vaccinated or cured from the coronavirus). Furthermore, in the entire area intended for the public, it will be mandatory to wear a mask and the consumption of food and drinks will be prohibited. “It has been a very busy few weeks. Now, however, we are ready - says Gabriel Fauster of the organizing association WSV Innichen - Of course the expectation of the World Cup and of the best ski crossers is enormous. Being able to welcome the fans is the icing on the cake, since they make the atmosphere very nice ”.
There is also great interest from television viewers in the “Formula 1 of skiing”. This is also highlighted by the high television ratings that the Ski Cross World Cup does from year to year - especially in the Scandinavian countries, but also in France and Switzerland - The Azzurri national team, although without the historic captain Siegmar Klotz, is really in great shape and Simone Deromedis, already 3rd and 5th between Val Thorens and Arosa in the last two races of CdM, will aim again for the podium that Italy has never won in San Candido.
