The World Cup season gets underway, with the second stage in France which sees the Canadian and the French twice on the podium, while Fanny Smith and Katrin Ofner share the successes in the women's races.

The ski cross season has finally taken off, with the opening of Arosa followed by the two races recovered in Val Thorens, two weeks after the planned opening in the transalpine resort.
After Covid, even the weather did not help in France, as the fog forced us to play the second race on Monday, but the show was not lacking and the hosts were able to cheer with Jonathan Midol, winner of race 1 on Reece Howden and Florian Wilmsmann. The Canadian then made up for it in the second competition, beating the Swiss Ryan Regez and the same transalpines Place and Midol.
Distant Azzurri, with Simone Deromedis 17th in race 1, then 23rd in race 2 with Zuech 38th and Gunsch 36th.
Among the women, Fanny Smith repeated herself after Arosa (now leading the general with a margin) beating the French Jade Grillet-Aubert and the Canadian Marielle Thompson, while the second challenge saw the Austrian Katrin Ofner triumph, who regulated the Daniela Maier from Germany and Thompson herself. Still ahead with the best Lucrezia Fantelli, splendid fifth in the first race and ninth in race 2.
ZULIAN WINS IN THE EUROPEAN CUP
After five years of fasting, Emil Zulian returns to the top step of the podium in the European Cup. It happened in the men's slopestyle race in Corvatsch, Switzerland, where the 23-year-old from Trentino won the race that saw some protagonists of the World Cup circuit at the start. Zulian preceded the Swiss Nicolas Huber and Moritz Thoenen, placing the fourth seal of his career, for a total of seven podiums.
In the top ten also Alberto Maffei ninth, while Leo Framarin, Ian Mattioli, Nicola Liviero, Loris Framarin and Emiliano Lauzi ended up out of the winds. In the women's field the victory went to the Australian Tess Coady ahead of the British Mia Brookes and the Belgian Loranne Smans. There were no Italian representatives present.
