The Regional Council, on the proposal of the President of the Lombardy Region and the Councilor for the Mountains, approved a non-repayable allocation of 3.12 million euros for the modernization and efficiency of the ski lifts in the Lombard mountain areas .

The text contains the criteria for the assignment of capital grants to favor technological innovation interventions, adaptation and improvement of the safety levels of the ski lifts, ski slopes and snowmaking devices of the local districts.

A contribution that is particularly important for adapting and expanding the Lombard ski offer portfolio, also in view of the celebration of the Five-Circle Games in February 2026 ".
"The measure - clarifies the Undersecretary - is aimed at the owners and public or private managers of plants in the Lombardy region and provides for capital contributions up to 100% of the expenses to be incurred or incurred. In fact, the interventions already carried out from January 1, 2021, in the case of unavailability for safety reasons, works carried out by the managers to keep the ski lifts and ski slopes running in these two years. The announcement will be published by June. Applications will be open from 1 to 15 July ".
"This is a support designed, in particular, to support the small realities of our mountains - concludes Antonio Rossi - and to help them keep up with the times and face the next seasons with optimism". In fact, Lombard ski resorts / ski areas of local importance, as defined by the European Commission, may apply for funding for this measure, i.e. with less than three lifts and lifts less than 3 km in length, or with a number of weekly passes sold throughout the season which does not exceed 15% of the total number of passes sold regionally and with 2,000 or less commercial beds available. The new works must be completed by November 2023.

"This measure - concludes the Mountain Councilor - intends to support the investment costs of small ski resorts by allowing the necessary improvements to make them more attractive. The attention and sensitivity of the Lombardy Region towards of the managers of the ski resorts and local ski areas, which were affected by the restrictive measures during the 'health emergency'.
The expenses for works, civil works and plant engineering, purchase and installation of systems, machinery, equipment and other ancillary costs relating to technological innovation or modernization and improvement of the safety levels of ski lifts, slopes are considered eligible for the regional contribution. from skis and artificial snow systems.
