The criteria for the assignment of support grants for the safe management of the ski lifts and ski slopes of the Lombard ski areas for the winter seasons 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 were approved by the Regional Council.

"With 2.4 million euros in grants - underlined Antonio Rossi, Undersecretary for Sport, Olympics 2026 and Major Events - we concretely support a fundamental sector for Lombardy which in recent years has been hit hard first by the restrictions linked to Covid and then by expensive energy ".
"This measure, which has now become structural - underlines Antonio Rossi - in the Lombardy Region policy, confirms the attention and sensitivity of the Region to the requests for help that come from the territory. These are important resources for the operators in the sector that will produce effects positive cascades for thousands of families who live in the mountains. A substantial contribution to a nerve center for winter sports and for the economy of our mountains which, in four years' time, will be the absolute protagonists in Italy and in the world with the Olympics winter of 2026 ".
"The announcement - concludes Rossi - will be published by June. Contributions are foreseen aimed at guaranteeing safety in the practice of snow sports, to cover the management and operating costs of the ski lifts and ski slopes equipped with programmed snow production. For the period 2021-2022 applications can be submitted from July 18 to September 9. Up to € 125,000 will be disbursed per request. We aim to get the beneficiaries to receive the first installments by November ".
"The commitment of the Lombardy Region - explains the Regional Councilor for the mountains Massimo Sertori - for the ski lifts and ski slopes is important and constant. With this measure, in fact, we allocate a significant contribution both for the coverage of operating costs for both the 'snow making of the slopes'. "We want to concretely help operators in managing the facilities - he continues - to make our mountains increasingly competitive in terms of tourism and winter sports". "Once again an effective contribution for a strategic sector and for winter tourism - concludes Sertori -, in fact, the ski lifts generate a driving force for all the related and connected production activities and multiplier for the entire economy of the mountain area".
In detail, the management and operating costs for the operation of the ski lifts and artificial snow, incurred from 1 November 2021 to 30 April 2022 and from 1 November 2022 to 30 April 2023 are eligible for a regional contribution. incurred for the consumption of electricity, the fuel consumption of vehicles suitable for the arrangement and beating of the slopes, the water supply for the production of programmed snow, the costs associated with routine maintenance and safety of the ski lifts and ski slopes. Also included are the costs related to the application of security protocols to prevent the spread of new COVID-19 outbreaks (from personal protective equipment to environmental sanitation services).
The total contribution that can be assigned to each application is determined up to a maximum of 70% of the admissible expenses, according to the length of the ski slopes covered with artificial snow by the manager, kept in operation and passable by users for at least thirty days during the ski season.
