Austrian Federsci president Peter Schröcksnadel has stated that his country is completely quiet about security fears at Pyeongchang 2018.

Because of the ever-increasing tension between the United States and North Korea, German Olympic Committee president Alfons Hörmann said he wanted to know if his country's athletes did not want to compete in South Korea due to safety issues. Schröcksnadel, however, does not echo those thoughts.
"We can not foresee today how the situation will be in February," Schröcksnadel told Sky Sport Austria. I think, however, that it will be much less critical than it is today. These are Olympic Games and not political games and we are totally relaxed when it comes to the Games. "
Austrian slalomist Bernadette Schild believes that the Games represent an opportunity and echoes its chairman to Sky Sport Austria: "Maybe we should give a signal and show that we can all live peacefully in this world and be able to practice sport together."
The International Olympic Committee has been able to closely monitor the situation on the Korean peninsula and has been in close contact with governments and the United Nations in recent months. The UN is on the verge of approving a resolution for an Olympic truce next month at the General Assembly.
