The CIO today formalized the cities and their respective Olympic committees interested in hosting the 2026 Winter Olympics.

There are seven countries involved: Austria with Graz, Canada with Calgary, Japan with Sapporo, Italy with Milan / Turin and Cortina d'Ampezzo, the latter added by CONi at the last moment on 31 March (the Livigno's candidature was instead an April Foolel, which was anticipated by one day), Sweden with Stockholm, Switzerland with Sion and Turkey with Erzurum.
In the specific case of Italy, it will be up to the International Olympic Committee, to skim the candidacies of our cities, also according to the will of the next national government, and to opt for what will be played, with those of other nations, the possibility of being the city host of the White Games of 2026, which will be chosen in the 134th session of the IOC scheduled for September 2019.
