On January 15, the National Day back Sure with the snow

Sunday, January 15 will be held the 2017 edition of "Sure with the snow," the national day of awareness and prevention of accidents typical of the winter season, caused in large part by avalanches, slipped on ice and hypothermia. Incidents that unfortunately this season are being repeated, as reported by the newspapers.

The event, organized by the Italian Alpine Club and the National Corps Mountain Rescue, will take place in dozens of mountain resorts in 16 Italian regions with conferences, principals of the backcountry ski and hiking trails, with the spread of useful tips and the collection of statistics, preparations of information stands and snow fields, with research demonstrations and self-rescue in avalanche. "Un''adeguata formation of mountain goers and prevention of possible accidents have always been among the priorities for which the CAI and the Mountain Rescue operate with greater commitment", says General President of the CAI Vincenzo Torti. "The constant search for a reasonable safety for lovers of the highlands is the 'objective underlying days like this, with which we intend to promote the' attention to the possible risks that we encounter going to the mountains and on what are the behaviors and the precautions to be taken to minimize them. " "Past editions of 'Sure with the snow' showed widespread deficiencies at the level of personal preparation, risk and the use of self-rescue equipment evaluation," says the project manager Elio Guastalli. "In this sense, it is essential to increase personal awareness accompanied by an indispensable technical knowledge, particularly among young people, which allows to attend the mountain in freedom and reasonable security." The day "Sure with the snow", included in the project "Safe in the mountains", is organized with the collaboration of Mountaineering and Ski Mountaineering School, the Commissions and the Central School of Hiking, Youth Mountaineering, touring or CAI, the Italian Avalanche Service, the Alpine Club FALC, with the support of institutions and administrations that deal with mountain. Participation is free and open to all.
