After more than 40 years since the introduction of the rules on signage on the ski slopes, the provisions have been updated and adapted according to the international rules of the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) which concern not only skiing but also other sports mountain.

Here are some of the norms UNI (Italian standardization body) under the general title of "Signalization for cableway installations and areas for skiing, recreational activities and mountain sports" that have been updated and have come into force since 8 November 2018:
Standard number 8132/2018. the standard specifies the characteristics of the signs to be used for cableways used for public service and in areas designated for skiing, recreational activities and mountain sports.
Standard 8133/2018: The standard specifies the graphic signs for the information signals to be used for cableways used for public services and in areas dedicated to skiing, recreational activities and mountain sports.
Standard 8134/2018: The standard specifies the graphic signs for mandatory signs to be used for cableways used for public service and in areas dedicated to skiing, recreational activities and mountain sports.
Standard number 8135/2018: The standard specifies the graphic signs for signs of prohibition to be used for cableways used for public service and in areas dedicated to skiing, recreational activities and mountain sports.
Standard number 8136/2018: The standard specifies the graphic signs for warning signs to be used for cableways used for public service and in areas dedicated to skiing, recreational activities and mountain sports.
At present, updates to the signage rules for downhill and cross-country trails are also under way.
