Approval has arrived from the Lombardy Region regarding the agreement with the Municipality of Ponte di Legno regarding the expansion of the “Medio Tonale-Cima Sorti”. With the completion of the works by the end of 2024, the scheme provides for the construction of two new lifts and 10 km of slopes equipped with programmed snowmaking.
As explained by the regional undersecretary for sport and major events, including the 2026 Olympics, or Antonio Rossi, the 'investment of 25 million euros "is an important figure that will increase the attractiveness of the entire area, projecting it into a new European dimension, to be exploited to the fullest in view of the Olympic appointment of 2026 ”.
The regional contribution specifically contributes to the construction of the "Stazione dei Vigili-Malga-Serodine-Bleis" cableway, the "Bleis-Monte Tonale Occidentale" cableway, the construction of new slopes and overpasses and finally the commitment relating to snow-making system and pump rooms in the artificial basin of Lake Bleis. The new “Passo Tonale” funicular will also be built, the roof of the arrival station of the “Colonia Vigili - Passo Tonale” cable car and three new refuges to support and integrate sports activities.
"After the approval of the agreement scheme by the administration of Ponte di Legno - added Rossi - it will be up to the OK of the decree of commitment in favor of the municipality itself, which must be followed by the municipal green light by the end of November to the technical and economic feasibility project ".
The first 7 million will arrive immediately and will allow to implement all the activities aimed at the conclusion of the design of the works and assignment of the works and the realization by lots of the planned works, starting from the Vigili Station-Malga-Serodine-Bleis cable car, the first intervention, in the established program, to be carried out.
