Cervinia, start of season 2012-2013 with two new tracks

The ski season in Valle d'Aosta will start as usual with Cervinia at the forefront. Opening this year is scheduled for the weekend of October 13- 14 and then the ski-season enters at full capacity on October 27th, when the plants at the foot of the Matherhorn open even during weekdays. For the 2012-2013 season, the news of the district regarding the slopes of Breuil, with two new tracks designed in the area of Pancheron and Cretaz.

Each year visitors of the area ofthe Matterhorn await some innovations in Cervinia resorts, that make it more and more exclusive.  Breuil-Cervinia, Valtournenche and Zermatt (Switzerland) offer all fans a skiable domaine of 360 km of slopes, across two nations and three valleys, linked by a network of modern and fast gondolas.
For example, the novelty of last season, the  futuristic cable car to Plateau Rosa, focal point of a ski without borders.

This years the novelties are in the area near the south face of Mattherhorn, one of the most fascinating and "wild" of the entire area. We see the new tracks.

"Grand Roc" (on the map tracks the numeral "62") goes in parallel with the path of the "slow ski" ("9a") and exhausts his descent into the valley of Cretaz, getting into then in the mythical "5", where the track ends in the village (Cretaz chairlift). Of medium difficulty (therefore classified as a "red"), this track is an alternative more for those who choose to ski in an area known as the "city of stone", only because of its large boulders similar to rocks peeking out from a sea of white ... snow!  It can be reached with the modern six-seater chair (with protective domes) Pancheron.

"Vallone 5" (for "5a") is the name of the other new track Breuil-Cervinia drawn "above" the "5" (Cretaz area) has a privileged geographical position, thanks to the many hours of sunshine make it ideal for a skiing style ... "I tan." A difference of only 300 meters, so no extreme slopes, making it ideal for a ski holiday (classified "red"), pausing perhaps to see ibex and chamois are at home here and it is very rare to see them. Even this track flows in the part of the track "5", always with a comfortable back on skis in Cervinia (starting Cretaz chairlift).Into Both the "Grand Roc" and the "Vallone 5" are ideal routes even during very cold because sheltered by a natural basin that makes this area an added value-ski for skiing. In addition, the chair Cretaz and Pancheron that serve these two new tracks, ensure during the ascent the 360° degree view of the south face of Matterhorn.

Argentera

Argentera
