The Cortina Italian Short Film Festival returns to Cortina

From 14 to 24 March in Cortina d'Ampezzo there will be the 14th edition of Cortinametraggio, the Italian Short Film Festival. The jury members of the Medusa Award for Best Feature Film will be Cristiana Capotondi, Paolo Genovese, Nicola Guaglianone, Lucia Cereda and Lavinia Farnese.

The winner of the prize will be able to sign an option contract for a fee of 3,000 euros. The finalists among whom the Best Winner Subject will be chosen are: Il Clandestino and the Lift of Armando Maria Trotta, Lira Funesta by Alessandro Padovani, and Tali and Quali by Angela Rifurgiato and Chiara Leto. The short films section, directed by Vincenzo Scuccimarra, regards Italian narrative short films that range from genres to the themes addressed. Twenty-one short films in competition that move between intelligent comedies that cast their gaze on the daily reality and the problems that characterize it and short linked to the theme of integration as an expression of a society that is increasingly becoming multi-ethnic. For the 2019 selection of the Vincenzo Scuccimarra competition he stated: "This year we received 450 short films, so many had never arrived. The twenty-one in the contest deal with the humor, originality, style and immediacy of the major current issues: social and relational precariousness, fear of the future, marginalization and integration. Although in most cases they are comedies, they don't want to be courts of escape, they want to face reality. " The shorts were judged by the directors Riccardo Antonaroli and Matteo Nicoletta, winners last year in Cortina with purebred Cani, Ricky Tognazzi, Tosca D’Aquino and Roberta Beta. The novelty of this year concerns the video clip section which has been divided into two subsections: mainstream (established artists and with more substantial budgets) and underground. Twenty-two titles selected among the 150 arrived. In the jury there will be Simona Izzo, the actor Daniele Liotti, the webstar Jenny de Nucci, the young director and producer Sarah Tognazzi and the record producer Alberto Quartana founder of Leave Music. The Italian Short Film Festival is conceived and directed by Maddalena Mayneri and is sponsored by the Veneto Region, the Province of Belluno, the Municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the support of Cortina Marketing Se.Am., with them the Events Network Culture, Anec, Fice, CSC - Experimental Center of Cinematography.

Argentera

Argentera
