"The single case of Covid-19 found in a boy present at the Cortina Summer Party gave rise to a media storm that seemed to us decidedly oversized compared to the reality of the facts, as always happens when we talk about Cortina d'Ampezzo".
This is the reply from Red Squirrel Events, the organizing company that immediately did its utmost to support the Municipality of Cortina and ULSS for the organization of a free tampon station: "We are fortunate to be in a country and region that once again have been able to give concrete proof of efficiency and attention - says Alvise Zuliani of Red Squirrel Events - If we had been elsewhere, however, there would not have been this media hype linked to a single report.
Now we are waiting for the outcome of the results - he continues - even if, in a summer in which Cortina was more crowded than ever, albeit in constant compliance with health regulations, it is impossible to establish whether a hypothetical positive result of the tampon can be traced to the single event ". The swabs were made to about a third of the people present at the Cortina Summer Party, including the many chefs and their collaborators in the queue, since many guests - after 8 days from the event - have already returned to their cities.
All the guests who were not in Cortina were warned and invited to undergo a voluntary swab at the ULSS in their city, many of whom had already autonomously taken the test with a negative result upon returning from vacation. It should be specified that the tampons were granted to all the people present in line: 285 were made and only less than half were the people present at the Cortina Summer Party.
It is important to remember once again how the event took place in full compliance with current regulations: the decree currently in force authorizes outdoor events for up to 1000 people. "We have reduced the number by half compared to the other years, 500 people, enlarged the area - explains Zuliani - and applied any possible preventive measure, including of course the obligation of distancing, as evidenced by the many signs at the entrance and near the various stands, the temperature controls, the use of masks, the 'compulsory hand sanitation'.
