A 26-year-old boy, who participated in the Summer Party in Cortina last August 20, tested positive for the coronavirus and was hospitalized at the San Martino hospital in Belluno.
The young man had been on vacation in Sardinia, a much discussed location these days due to the large number of people who tested positive for covid-19 after returning from the island.
At the Summer Party, an event held outdoors on the meadows of Socrepes, there were about 500 people including characters such as Alessandro Benetton, president of the Cortina 2021 Foundation and the home blue champion, Kristian Ghedina and the television presenter of the Linea Bianca broadcast, Massimiliano Ossini.
The mayor of Cortina d'Ampezzo, Gianpietro Ghedina, in agreement with the Director of the Sanitation and Public Health Ulss of Belluno Dr. Sandro Cinquetti, has therefore decided to inform all the participants of the Summer Party by inviting them to undergo the swab at the drive in in the back of the Cortina Ice Stadium where more than 280 people showed up yesterday, 28 August.
“A total of 285 swabs were performed which will be loaded into the laboratory system overnight and reported within 48 hours. Negative reports will be reported via SMS to all subjects subjected to a swab on the telephone number deposited. Positive cases will be dealt with by telephone by the Prevention Department. I warmly thank Ulss Dolomiti for the excellent service, the availability and professionalism of its operators, as well as the police, the local police and the civil protection who managed the traffic and access to the ice rink with precision " announced the mayor, Giampietro Ghedina, on his facebook profile.
