Les Deux Alpes announces, as expected before the coronavirus, the opening of the summer season on June 6th. A realistic hypothesis? "There is a will," replies the director of the Tourist Office Éric Bouchet to the French newspaper "Le Dauphiné".

In France, the Lockdown period has just been extended until 11 May, and the demonstrations and meetings of the summer have been canceled one after the other. In les 2 Alpes one tries to reason as if economic and tourist life resumed its course after the last measures of the month of May. As if summer, despite what everyone thinks, will begin with phase 2 of the reopening. "If we continue with a difficult second season, there will be very serious social consequences in Les 2 Alpes," warns Éric Bouchet. So, and as expected, the launch of the summer season remains set for June 6th. The station sees for now confirmed all its events in June, July and August. But how can the French government ban all public meetings until July 15? "We will adapt," Éric Bouchet replies, "if the evolution of the coronavirus and the opening constraints force us to cancel some manifestations, we will do it. Today nothing obliges us to do it". And he adds "we are lucky to be our organizers. If we were to cancel 5 days before, we will not have to bear any costs. Our suppliers are associated with the risks we take. Everyone agrees that we can cancel at the last minute." However: the Oisans station will not be able to ignore the post-confinement reality: wear a mask, provide reinforced health measures in structures open to the public, repeat the rules of social removal. How will these constraints be managed? "We are about to initiate a dialogue with local actors to ensure our customers that these measures are adhered to and that barrier action is being taken. We must work now to respond to the great concern that will be experienced at the end of the containment period."
