On December 1st the new winter season will start in Livigno, which this year received the "European Town of Sport 2019" nomination by the ACES Europe Commission and has risen on the second step of the podium at the "European Best Ski Resorts 2019" .

From the 1816 meters of the inhabited center it climbs up to 2900 meters of altitude where there are 12 black, 37 red and 27 blue slopes served by 6 gondola lifts (Carosello 3000 I and II, Mottolino, Livigno Centro Tagliede I and II, Cassana), 11 ski lifts and 14 chairlifts, the last of which - which connects the Eira pass to the arrival area of ​​the Mottolino gondola lift - will be inaugurated this year. For the new season two free shuttles will be activated that will allow skiers to move in a few minutes from the Carosello side to the Mottolino side, and vice versa, to reach the snow parks. For over 15 years, that of Mottolino has been recognized as the best snowpark in Italy and among the first appreciated in Europe receiving several awards among the trade fairs in Italy and abroad thanks to the avant-garde, innovative and modern construction system that has allowed to host many international events. Recently, in the Forcola area, along the cross-country track, the Biathlon Arena was inaugurated, a modern shooting range with 12 electronic shapes, suited to the needs of professional athletes and enthusiasts. With the opening of the season, from 30 November to 2 December, will be held the 29th edition of Sgambeda, the race most awaited by cross-country skiers. From 12 to 16 January there will be the 13th edition of the World Rookie Fest, the world's most popular slopestyle and snowboard contest where over 20 national snowboarding teams from all over the world will compete between performances in the void and adrenaline jumps. From 23 to 29 March Livigno will host the European Cup of freestyle and snowboard, while from March 30 to April 6, elegant telemark skiers will gather in the Small Tibet on the occasion of Skieda: the reference event for fans of free heel descent , which you can have fun with this classic and timeless technique, which every year attracts thousands of enthusiasts new to this discipline. Finally in December do not miss the Christmas atmosphere with the wooden houses wrapped in a whirl of colored and glittering lights, where you can breathe different scents emanating from local products available in different stands such as roast chestnuts, hot chocolate, sweets and mulled wine. During the season there are different offers. Until 21 December 2018 and from 6 April to 1 May 2019 staying in Livigno in one of the hotels that have an agreement for at least 4 nights or 7 nights in an apartment, the skipass will be free of charge. Guests of the affiliated hotels will also receive the Livigno Winter Card free of charge, which gives access to many discounts and discounts in the village. From 26th January to 2nd February and from 23rd to 30th March 2019 Family Week Kids Go Free take off, with discounts for under 12s: free stay at the hotel and 15% discount on the apartment for the first child and 50% discount on the stay for the other children of the group born since 2007.
