By the middle of February, maintenance work on the Staffa - Alpe Bill - Passo del Moro cable car in Macugnaga should end, which should have finished before Christmas.
Stefano Corsi, mayor of Macugnaga, said that it was a very complex intervention that lasted longer than expected. The engine and the electrical part have been changed. The plant should have come back into operation already in the Christmas period.
Work began on August 26th. However, these were necessary interventions as the Staffa - Alpe Bill cable car had reached its 60th year of operation.
The plant could start operating as early as this weekend.

Argentera si trova nell’alta Valle Stura, a pochi chilometri dal Colle della Maddalena e dal confine francese, in uno degli ambienti più appartati e selvaggi delle Alpi Marittime. Il comprensorio si sviluppa sopra la frazione di Bersezio, tra circa 1.630 e 2.500 metri di quota, in un paesaggio di lariceti e pendii d’alta montagna dominato dall’Oserot e dalla Rocca dei Tre Vescovi.
