Pinzolo

The local ski area offers 31 km of slopes and extends from approximately 800 metres in the valley floor to 2,101 metres at Doss del Sabion. The runs are served by 14 lifts and an extensive artificial snowmaking system, which is particularly important on the descents reaching the lowest elevations. From the village, the gondola takes you to Prà Rodont, at 1,530 metres, the resort’s main meeting point and an area particularly well suited to beginners and families.

The lift network is modern and efficient. The connection between Prà Rodont and Doss del Sabion is provided by the ten-passenger gondola inaugurated in 2023, which can reach the summit in just over four minutes and transport up to 2,800 people per hour. The new lift replaced the previous chairlift, improving comfort, speed and accessibility for pedestrians as well. The panoramic Doss del Sabion mountain hut at the summit has also been completely renovated.

Despite its compact size, Pinzolo offers a fairly varied selection of slopes. The beginner areas and easiest runs at Prà Rodont are suitable for those taking their first steps, while the red runs in the Grual and Cioca sectors allow intermediate skiers to enjoy long descents through a predominantly wooded setting. The layout of the resort makes it possible to quickly return to the same meeting points, making the ski area easy to explore even for families and groups with different ability levels.

Pinzolo’s more challenging character emerges on the slopes descending towards Tulot. The famous DoloMitica starts at Doss del Sabion and reaches the valley floor via the Tour and Star variants, extending for up to 5.5 km with more than 1,200 metres of vertical drop. The most technical section is the Tulot, a black run approximately 2.6 km long, with over 900 metres of vertical drop and gradients that challenge even experienced skiers. These are long, sporty runs that contrast with the more relaxed character of the slopes in the central part of the resort.

The Pinzolo-Campiglio Express, the long gondola that directly connects Pinzolo with the slopes of Madonna di Campiglio, departs from the Tulot area. From here, you can continue on skis towards Pradalago and Malghette, subsequently entering the ski area of Folgarida-Marilleva and Daolasa. The entire linked circuit offers 156 km of connected slopes: Pinzolo therefore retains the atmosphere and ease of orientation of a relatively compact resort, while offering the possibility of undertaking extensive day tours between Val Rendena and Val di Sole.

The village of Pinzolo, located at approximately 800 metres, is inhabited year-round and has a more traditional identity and generally more affordable prices than Madonna di Campiglio. The lifts are located a short distance from the centre, where parking, rental shops and services are available. Among the area’s cultural highlights, the Church of San Vigilio is well worth a visit, famous for its fifteenth-century Danza Macabra fresco painted by Simone Baschenis. Carisolo also has a small cross-country skiing centre, with groomed trails for both classic technique and skating.

In summer, Pinzolo is one of the main gateways to the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. The lifts at Doss del Sabion facilitate hikes and panoramic walks at altitude, while mountain bike and e-bike routes start from the valley floor. Nearby Val Genova, known as the “valley of waterfalls”, leads to the Nardis Waterfalls and towards the glacial landscapes of Adamello. The offer is completed by the Val Rendena cycle path, routes along the Sarca River and numerous activities for families.
