Winter sport champions start raising money to help Sappada

Lisa Vittozzi, Silvio Fauner, Pietro Piller Cottrer and Emanuele Buzzi decided to mobilize themselves in first person to help their territory, in recent days scourged by bad weather.

The rain and the wind that struck heavily in Northern Italy, devastated forests and left without electricity dozens of countries, however, have not put the sappadini on their knees. In spite of the considerable damage, yesterday the GTS Srl, a company that manages the Sappada ski lifts, has confirmed that the winter season will start on Saturday 1st December, as scheduled. The champions of the winter sports of this land have instead immediately committed to promote initiatives to raise funds to be allocated to the local community. "The first idea was to carry out a charity auction - said Fauner - and now we will study how to set it up, but in principle we will offer objects and materials that have characterized our career. who wants to ski with us, a kind of lesson, in short ". In the meantime, however, the cross-country track is practically destroyed and the Italian Cup races scheduled for mid-December are at great risk: "The tanks for snowmaking are no longer there, all the crossings of the Piave and the bridges are impractical, in the stretch many trees have fallen in the forest and I imagine there are problems also for the Camosci descent, on which there have already been landslides in the past - said Fauner - and soon we will find ourselves as asso Camosci with the municipal administration for understand how to proceed, that is, if you renounce the crossings moving completely to the north or re-establish everything before the snow arrives, we will do everything to be ready and I am convinced that we will be ".

Argentera

Argentera
